I did a fresh install of boinc onto a clean install of windows 7 pro. I usually dont have a problem, but after the install and i log into my account, nothing happens. I an see my statistics in real time, but the client does not receive any tasks. I was on the previous client and then updated to current hoping for a fix, but same problem. Has anyone else come across this? |

Did you just start a number of BOINC projects at the same time on this install? Perhaps BOINC Manager feels it already has enough work to last for your configured network preferences. What messages do you see in the event log? Rosetta Moderator: Mod.Sense |

I only run Rosetta and it is the only thing attached to my account. I just install the client and it just sits there. When I try to open some of the options like computing preferences, the client crashes. Not sure what is going on with it. |

If Windows was reinstalled, perhaps you need a Windows service pack to get the system stable? Rosetta Moderator: Mod.Sense |

When I try to open some of the options like computing preferences, the client crashes. Not sure what is going on with it. You have probably already done these all, but I will risk triggering some thoughts on your part. Rosetta should begin downloading as long as it thinks it has enough disk space to succeed. I would check the download backoff to see if it is long... and update Rosetta project ... AND then calculate how much disk space you are limiting Rosetta to. I would monitor the TOOLS:EVENT LOG to see what messages are spewed out as you check the following. 1. Rosetta server code has a bug somewhere that causes it BACKOFF for 24 hours if you request jobs when the job queue is empty. ... if your backoff is several hours, just go to the PROJECTS tab, select the Rosetta project and UPDATE it. 2. Rosetta server code has a bug that tells you there are "NO ANDROID JOBS" ... just mentally ignore the word ANDROID. ... just annoying and should be ignored. 3. BOINC PREFERENCE set OK? Since it is not downloading ... I just enabled a machine running Windows 10 and BOINC 7.6.33 and it downloaded jobs. COMPUTING TAB ... CPU usage is not an issue unless you have 0%. ... "WHEN TO SUSPEND" will not stop downloading. ... "OTHER" might, but I doubt, affect the download. I would set it a couple days if you leave the machine running. I have 1 day and 1 day extra. ... NETWORK tab, all of my checkboxes are blank. ... DISK AND MEMORY Rosetta is a disk hog and I have disk configured to allow 100GB of disk ... DISK AND MEMORY Rosetta is a memory hog and wants to typically use 200mb to 500mb per job. I have watched a couple of the project go rogue and ask for 10GB before my allocated memory was exhausted. I have memory set to 80% in use, 90% not in use and 75% swap ... DAILY SCHEDULES all blank on my setting that just worked. |

I went into the Boinc event viewer and saw that it was saying: 2%2 |
