Hey guys. Installed Rosetta few days ago to give it a try and make world a little bit better place. Anyway, what bothers me is that when I need more power from my machine and suspend the calculations, the app seems not giving a damn about that. Even when I quit the app, there still were 4 processes running, taking about 20% on each CPU. Have any of you experienced this? |

After clicking File > "Exit BOINC Manager" Did you check the "Stop running tasks when exiting the BOINC Manager"? That should cause all threads to shut down. Pausing BOINC (Activity > Suspend) will cause all running tasks to stop, and they'll then be moved to the pagefile as memory is required by other stuff, and that way it will pick up again once you unsuspend it. |

Only if "leave applications in memory while suspended" is activated. For machines with enough RAM this is the recommended method as you won't loose a single CPU second. If you want BOINC to automatically suspend computation when you start a specific application, you can take a look at Client Configuration, <exclusive_app>. . |
