Hello, I use Windows 7 64-bit operating system. For some time the amount of use made of RAM increased dramatically. Virtual memory on PC stopped. I have a 8GB RAM and Intel Q6600 CPU. PS Sorry for my bad english. |

BOINC Computing preferences allow you to designate the amount of memory you wish to limit BOINC to when the machine is in use, and idle. You can also set a limit on the % of the swap file used for BOINC. When BOINC sees memory limits exceeded, it suspends one of the tasks and if another is available, it will often try to run another one. Perhaps this one will run in less memory, especially if the next task is from a project with lower memory requirements. If the next task grows to exceed the memory preference as well, then BOINC may end up running less tasks than your number of CPUs or your CPU preference. Rosetta Moderator: Mod.Sense |
