I do understand there are server issues due to the crash, I only want to give notice that the Mac side of things are still not available for upload, download, or communication with the server. The Server status page in no way reflects the Mac (Darwin) issue so I thought I would share.

Thanks for all your effort.

Yeah, I got that message a few times also. I think based on KEL's report, we will get various messages as our computers contact the server and fail to find files they haven't yet reinstalled. A real mess on their end!

I guess the servers are technically up, but only a trickle of wu's are going in and out. The teraFLOPS estimate has crept up to around 6, when normally it is 100+.

I posted both of KEL's postings to this thread: https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/forum_thread.php?id=5028&nowrap=true#69318

Mac and PC are both affected.

I'm sorry, I do not have any news to offer on this message. I'm sure they are simply addressing issues in order by the number of users effected. So now that servers seem to be up and running and uploads are coming through, this issue is probably coming to the top of the list.

I keep getting the same message. Right now, I'm still assuming that it probably has something to do with the server issues they've been having recently and are trying to get fixed. Since Mac users are a small sliver of computer users out there, and Intel 64-bit Mac users are probably a sliver of that, I'm assuming that we'll be among the last to get back up and running. Until then, I'll keep trying to report/upload/download each day until it either starts working again or I find out something different is causing the problem.

All of you should consider joining Emigdio's MacOSX Users team. Before the crash we were #22. Perhaps if we were top 10 or 15 it would highlight our importance to the project team. I'm sure they will have us crunching soon, at any rate.

If OSX users are looking for something to crunch in the meantime, malariacontrol.net runs nicely. Over 500,000 children under 4 died of malaria in Africa last year.

I certainly did not intend to imply any greater or lesser importance. Simply that if noone can upload work, then resolving an issue for a specific platform first does not make sense, because it still won't be able to upload work.

I don't think anyone inferred that. We are all grateful you take the time to keep us informed.
