This is the first update for some time, we've added a lot of functionality, maybe Sarel can comment in more detail ? Please post bug reports here ! http://beautifulproteins.blogspot.com/ http://www.miketyka.com/ |

As David mentioned in his recent posts (see link below), we've recently identified a redesigned protein that binds specifically to influenza. We're all very excited about this result and experimental tests are under way. Importantly, this design came from one of the previous batches of ProteinInterfaceDesign protocols that I sent out during January and February and this would not have been possible if it weren't for your contributions! I'm very excited to see whether we can get more designs that bind so effectively to influenza! The current update has some features that will help us sample different scaffolds more efficiently. I've submitted a small-scale run to Rosetta @ Home to see that all of the protocols run well on your computers and will gradually increase their size over the next few weeks. Please report any problems. Many thanks! I woke to a crash of this task that put a pop-up dialog box on my computer that had to be dismissed. In the mean time, the task was "locked" so my computer was sub-optimal in running ... in essence I had an idle core ... un-good ... |

Task 331986155 gave Compute Error on Mac. Starting watchdog... Watchdog active. terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::bad_alloc' what(): std::bad_alloc SIGABRT: abort called + tons of debug info |

I have had tasks the last two evenings that have ended with computation errors and have forced an exception end to the C++ Runtime environment. I could send the event log if it would help in debug (posting now without checking first to see if you already specified what to provide you - will look now after the fact)- running XP SP3 on a Dual Core processor with 4GB RAM. |

The crashes with bad alloc all come from the same set of runs, which share in common a different type of input file. I'm not sure what's causing the crash so in the meantime, I've eliminated these runs from the queue. Work units that have already been sent out will still run (and it looks like the crashes are rare events) but they should be ending within the next day or two. I'll let you know before I relaunch this type of job what was the problem. Thanks, Sarel. |

Task 332824621 (t469__boinc_rosetta_cm_loopbuild_threading_tex_IGNORE_THE_REST_19621_1890_0) gave a Validate Error on Mac. "Too many error results" according to the Workunit Log. A wingman ran into the same problem on W7. |
