Guys,

I don't know if Rosetta Stone programmers are reading this,

If so, could you please prepare more work for Macs?

Rosetta didn't have any work for my Mac for about 2 months and it was sad.

Other projects have used my time in the meantime.

If it's a scheduling issue (i.e., it depends on what time my Mac connects) could someone please state so in this forum?

Thanks.

1st: It isn't Rosetta Stone... Rosetta Stone is a language-learning software.

2nd: As far as I know, Rosetta doesn't have mac support as of now.

Hi

There's currently the older fortran(?) based rosetta and the newer c++(?) based mini-rosetta, and only the older version has been compiled for PPC macs, but there's no work units being sent out for it at the moment (it's only used for working with some functions that haven't been included into mini-rosetta yet).
The reasoning for not including a PPC version of mini-rosetta is that it's another platform to produce and then maintain on-top of an already hectic workload, while the proportion of PPC compute power is falling.

Maybe that's true but this is the original, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rosetta_Stone.

That is true but my question would be where is today's equivalent? We have a bit over 5,000 languages spoken on our planet earth, that was said on the DNA show just last night on national Geographic TV, and unless we are talking computers I do not personally know of anything like it today.

The Rosetta Stone was the "key to understanding" a language. It had everything you needed to know is one place.

LOL

Yeah, I learned something about the Rosetta Stone back in HS biology.

But anyhow, if you google rosetta stone, you'll get plagued with the language learning software.
I tried using it myself to learn some German, but I failed. I got as far as saying: "The girl is wearing a skirt" with a horrible accent. So I quit :D

The software loads some evil stuff on your pc too, it can be a nightmare to uninstall! It is also expensive!!!

I guess that makes sense about why this Project is called what it is...the key to understanding proteins will open the doorway to understanding alot of mankinds problems.
