For several weeks this messages shows up a lot:

Restarting [name-of-task] using minirosetta version 182
Task [name-of-task] exited with zero status but no 'finished' file
If this happens repeatedly you may need to reset the project.

After about half an hour of this, Rosetta seems to move on to another task, but memory is not freed. The hanging processes can be deleted manually using Process Explorer. Resetting the project does not keep the problem from returning.

This problem happens on one of my Vista Home Premium systems, a laptop with an Intel Core2 Dual P7350 processor, but not on the other computer, a desktop with an Intel Core2 Quad Q8200 processor. The operating temperature of the problem laptop computer sometimes creeps up near the published CPU limit of 90degC. It is controlled by a fan blowing across the laptop and by restricting Rosetta CPU usage to 70%. Could hardware stress explain this problem?

Ran for ~17 hours, stalled at 60.274% for over an hour - clicking "Show graphics" in the BOINC manager only resulted in "program not responding" errors

The problem seems to have been fixed by uninstalling an old version of BOINC and reinstalling the current version. I was looking for differences between the computer that worked and the one that didn't.

Happened on this WU after 2 hrs 50 min. This machine worked fine with Rosetta Mini v1.80.

The WU looprebuild_t374_decoy_1_12863_2519 had a validate error for both crunchers after crunching a short amount of time and producing 99 decoys.

Keep getting this for Mini rosetta 1.86.

I just got several 1.86 WU with a length of --. Houston I think we have a problem.

I'm currently unable to upload some of the output files for these three 1.82
workunits, which makes it difficult to get a view of whether those workunits completed without error.

Also, note the failure to download all of a 1.86 workunit.

I've editted out the messages related to workunits from other projects.

I'm now out of Rosetta@home workunits that aren't waiting for uploads to complete, so I'll have the computer do workunits for other BOINC projects for a while.

Yeah, the same for me here. Hours and hours of Problem uploading the results of a finished task, then downloads for a new minirotetta 1.86 started, but either the expected database file was 0 bytes, or there was a signature error.

By the way, there was no note on the homepage, that minirosetta had been updated to Rev. 1.86. I just hope that the site wasn't hacked...

And today, I got not one new task, neither in the office nor at home. Strange... rosetta seems to be on vacancy :-)

I've just noticed that none of my systems are getting new work units. A few have just run out of work units. I reinstalled the current boinc on one system and tried again, and the servers would still not supply any new work units. I'm happy (not really) to read that this appears to be happening to others, not just me.

It's happening here too. I've received nothing since Saturday. Tonight I received 8 and that was it.

I'm not sure how the disk limit was exceeded here, 286.10MB != 0.58GB.

alpha, the .58GB is your overall BOINC preference. Which is then possibly divided across several projects. But the actual failure message is specific to the task. The tasks have a failsafe which kicks in if abnormally large amounts of output are being produced. This appears to be what caused the task to end... odd then that it would say the file was absent. Such mannar of odd things are why your reports in these threads are useful. Thank you.
