I'm just curious as to a why I have pending tasks when the project is seutp with a quorum of 1. Is this a matter of the servers catching up to pending work after that unexpected outage? Not a big deal, just wondered what was causing the delay. Join SETI.USA Today! |

It is most likely caused by the short server outage yesterday. My computers seems to have downloaded extra workunits today. |

The assimilator has been behind (or inoperative?) the last day or so. It's not waiting for anyone else to verify your result, it's just waiting for the assimilator to acknowledge the task and assign credit. Rosetta Moderator: Mod.Sense |

The assimilator has been behind (or inoperative?) the last day or so. It's not waiting for anyone else to verify your result, it's just waiting for the assimilator to acknowledge the task and assign credit. It's doing it in an odd way then. Glancing around the results of some of my team, one has results credited well into today, though some recent results are credited when older ones are still pending, while some of my pending credits are older with no change at all over the last 4 hours. 15 pending has become 20 pending (spoke too soon - now 21 pending). Something still doesn't look right. |

Awarding credit is not the task of the assimilators but the validators. According to the server status page all validators are operative, however none of my results have been validated since the outage too. Maybe the validators are catching up (edit: most probably the raid and/or the polyserve file system must be rebuild) but maybe there is some "damage" left from the outage. I hope someone of the team will look into it. |

Yes, I'm sure my brain grabbed the wrong term. Put it this way, before taking the time to post anything more about it... look for the project TFLOPS on the homepage to cross over 60. If it's not over 60, then there are still issues, and you're not the only one in that situation. Rosetta Moderator: Mod.Sense |

Definitely seems to be a bigger issue now. I just tried manually uploading 3 completed tasks and it came back saying: 29/04/2009 22:43:31 rosetta@home Message from server: Project is temporarily shut down for maintenance Looking at the Server Status page, everything except Data-driven web-pages is now set to disabled. Looks like the issue is being seriously addressed now. Hopefully everything gets sorted out soon. Thanks for the response. |

Definitely seems to be a bigger issue now. I just tried manually uploading 3 completed tasks and it came back saying: Everything running again. 4 tasks uploaded, one got credit immediately, the other 3 pending. 2 tasks uploaded 9 hours ago, one credited, the other still pending. I may be commenting far too early, but my initial reaction is one of confusion. |

I may be commenting far too early, but my initial reaction is one of confusion. Ok, now: 30/04/2009 00:53:45 rosetta@home Reporting 1 completed tasks, not requesting new tasks 30/04/2009 00:54:08 Project communication failed: attempting access to reference site 30/04/2009 00:54:09 Internet access OK - project servers may be temporarily down. 30/04/2009 00:54:11 rosetta@home Scheduler request failed: Couldn't connect to server I'll leave this until the morning. It's obviously all being worked on without my running commentary. |

I'm also having problems with pending tasks. I have over 120 tasks in pending and they've been there for days. My normal credit/day is about 2700, but the last several days, only 400 to 800 are getting through the system. |

Look on the bright side - all those pending credits are 'money in the bank' and as soon as the validator catches up it'll be like christmas! Some other projects (CPDN recently) have hiccups now and then, but everything gets sorted out eventually. |

Look on the bright side - all those pending credits are 'money in the bank' and as soon as the validator catches up it'll be like Christmas! True, though validating is all very patchy. I've been credited for WUs from 4 hours ago, while others from over 24 hours ago are still pending. I've got 23 WUs pending so, it doesn't look like there's any catch-up at all - slipping back if anything. The real plus is that new tasks are still coming down so work is being continued, though I'm currently having an issue with uploading. 30/04/2009 11:24:41 rosetta@home Started upload of cc_0_8_all_0.1_mike_chosen_cst_hb_t308__IGNORE_THE_REST_1M2OB_3_11491_18_1_0 30/04/2009 11:25:02 Project communication failed: attempting access to reference site 30/04/2009 11:25:02 rosetta@home Temporarily failed upload of cc_0_8_all_0.1_mike_chosen_cst_hb_t308__IGNORE_THE_REST_1M2OB_3_11491_18_1_0: connect() failed 30/04/2009 11:25:02 rosetta@home Backing off 43 min 30 sec on upload of cc_0_8_all_0.1_mike_chosen_cst_hb_t308__IGNORE_THE_REST_1M2OB_3_11491_18_1_0 30/04/2009 11:25:03 Internet access OK - project servers may be temporarily down. |

Hello, as you all can see there are a lot of tasks reported back, but still pending credit. Looking at my latest reported tasks I can see: Boinc: April 30 10:23:42 (UTC +2 hours) – Reporting 1 completed task or: April 30 8:23:42 UTC – Reporting 1 completed task R@H website: Time reported: Apr 30 2009 7:45:08 UTC (Yes this is the same task) Some 38 minutes time offset. On the other hand the Server Status Page is giving the right time. Just my thoughts: Can the differences in Server time & real time cause the server to “hesitate” on giving credit? Edit: The forum time seems to be fine. Have a nice day, Path7. |

Update: Down to 400+ credits pending and all WUs are processing nicely. Good job in getting things back in order. Join SETI.USA Today! |

I think there may be a server problem - I've attached to the project, but cannot download any WUs. |
