Can someone tell me if it's possible to not have the computer turn off Internet connections etc when monitor goes into hibernation? I don't see a need for the monitor to be on if I'm not using it.

Boinc seems to continue to run Rosetta, but every time I turn on monitor to check it, the Boinc manager is popped up telling me it can't connect to the Internet. A few seconds later the task bar notification pops up telling me it's now connected to the Internet. Same thing happened a few minutes ago trying to transfer music from my laptop to my desk top.

I have hibernation disabled in Windows but have the power settings set to turn off the monitor after 5 minutes.

Desktop is recently a clean install ofWindows XP Home with SP3. All updates to all software and hardware.

Connects to Internet and workgroup via wireless.

Go into your network card settings and change the setting to turn it off to save power. That probably is what is happening, the computer is snoozing and the network is shut down to conserve even more power. Go to network connections, right click, then left click properties on the connection you have, then the configure tab, then the power management tab. Uncheck the box which allows the computer to turn it off. Make sure you click apply box at the bottom before exiting.
