I have recently had a number of tasks that finish without error well before the preferred runtime.

An Example ran just 3 hrs on a 10 hr runtime.

All task that have done this show 99 decoys completed, is this a max built into the tasks?

Yes ...

It is a new limit because of an issue with the size of the data file to be returned. When the models are run too long the file gets too big and cannot be properly handled. So, a cut-off of 99 decoys was added as a work around until a more elegant solution can be created ...

With the v1.54 of RosettaMini just released, a new limit of 99 models was imposed. The task completes normally and 99 models worth of credit is granted. However, if you normally have a long runtime, it may mean that the task completes early. Nothing went wrong. The limit was imposed as a quick and safe way to assure that your output file (the result sent back to the project) doesn't grow too large. In the future, the output file size will be controlled in other ways and should allow the task to run through to it's preferred runtime.

Your result is certainly much better then crunching 175 models only to find the result file exceeds the maximum size to send back, and the task fails. So, the 99 model limit was an easy, simple, and short-term approach to assuring that does not happen.
