Has r@h calculation evolved as multicore crunching or did the client improved to multicore friendly? Today I tested a utility on 2 core crunching process and core 1 and core 2 utilization constantly shifted 30% and 70% to each other. or utilization changes like core1 = 41% and core2 = 58% something any shared numbers within 99%.

With 2 cores, each Rosetta thread could run with as much as 50%. But what happens sometimes is that the associated graphic thread also tags it's time onto the thread of the task it is displaying, and this can add to that 50% figure.

There is a setting in the computing preferences for the maximum number of CPUs BOINC is allowed to run at a time. So, you have to be sure it is set to 2 or higher when you want to use both cores or a hyperthreaded CPU.
