Very happy cruncher here.

Saw a new com error today with Rosetta - when downloading WU.
BUT - also downloaded WU from Spinhenge without problem.
Downloads seem to finish after a retry or two - just limping along

Not an uncommon occurence. This is why BOINC does the retries. Rosetta has 3 servers. If one fails, then BOINC tries the next. The queue of work was emptied this morning, and so perhaps you caught a busy time after that was resolved as all the machines came in for more work.

So, yes, there's a good chance the server was just plain busy.

This sort of occurence is why many people like to have a second project configured, even with just a 1 resource share. Or, they configure their preferences to keep some extra work on-hand. That way you are still crunching while awaiting any file downloads.
