I have a Celeon D 331 CPU which support 64bit operations. Does it able to improve rosetta performance after change OS from Windows XP to Windows XP 64bit ? thanks |

Thanks. It's seems a good way to keep in 32bit OS until boinc have already optimized for 64bit. |

Thanks. It's seems a good way to keep in 32bit OS until boinc have already optimized for 64bit. Actually there is a beta release of BOINC supporting 64 bits. But I don't think a lot of projects has an application, that utilizes 64 bits. Actually I've only heard of one, and I can't remember which... ;) The improvements from writing a 64 bit app is just too wee to be justified. A lot of apps could use some general optimization (like for SSE, SSE2 and so forth) first. To me it seems like the 64bit systems right now is most about being able to support more than 4gb of addressable RAM. |

Thanks. It's seems a good way to keep in 32bit OS until boinc have already optimized for 64bit. :). 64 bit system prefer a large memory than performance. |
