Is there any way to make Ubuntu run as a service in Linux so that I do not have to manually start it? If not, I installed Boinc, but it does not connect to the server. I first installed version 5.8.x and it connected, completed a few work units, but then I noticed some error messages in the terminal window, so I shut it and downloaded the debian package version which I launch from the application menu instead of from the terminal window as I had done previously. After doing this, neither the newer version launched from terminal window or the older version connect to the WU server. Any speculation? |

Go into preferences- sessions-startup programs then add , then browse to your boinc folder and then onto run_client. That should get you running at startup :) |
