Does anyone know of a simple way to have the computer shutdown after rosetta checkpoints? I've got a computer that's going in the loft and it'll be crunching through the night but shutting down through the day. I'd rather it shuts down after a checkpoint if possible though. I'm thinking a small VB script or even a batch file that monitors one of the files in the rosetta dir and then initiates shutdown once that's been written to. Any suggestions? cheers Danny |

You could turn on task_debug logging and you get something like 26/01/2007 15:21:39|rosetta@home|[task_debug] result 1wit__BOINC_NOFILTERS_ABRELAX_SAVE_ALL_OUT_NEWRELAXFLAGS_frags83__1505_6980_0 checkpointed then I would actually hibernate or suspend (hibernate uses same amount of electricity as 'off', suspend (if S3) uses whatever is used to let the RAM tick over (not a lot) on top. You'll get a faster shutdown and startup for the same electricity usage (or a negligable amount more for suspend) Team mauisun.org |
