Greetings; I have a problem with the Rosette Screen Saver. It seems to lock up and can't be shut down without resetting the computer. I'm using a Windows Vista Evaluation Program on an AMD Dual Core 64 bit chip. Anyone out there know how I can fix this? |

Greetings; Do you have an ATI graphics card? If so, your best bet initially is to change the screensaver to something other than BOINC. (BOINC can still run without the screensaver). Danny |

Greetings; My vidio care is a brand new EVGA card I do not have this screen saver problem with Seti@home, only Rosetta. I think for the present I will turn off the screen saver. Maybe there will be an upgrade to this program. |

Greetings; The same goes for me, although I was able to use the task manager to shut the process down. SETI@home instead does perfectly fine. My system: AMD Dual Core 4800+ 2GB RAM (identical RAM modules) WinXP SP2 (32bit version) NVIDIA GeForce 7900 This is the error I fetched from the message log afterwards: 07.12.2006 06:01:13|rosetta@home|Unrecoverable error for result DOC_1DFJ_R061114_pose_u_global_search_1402_7708_1 ( - exit code 1073807364 (0x40010004)) For now I removed BOINC from the screensaver settings and hope further WUs will do. |

Yes, there are presently some screensaver problems. Let's keep all the facts together. The topic is more appropriate for the crunching forum, since the screensaver has nothing to do with proteins, or diseases or cures. So, please post to this thread. Add this signature to your EMail: Running Microsoft's "System Idle Process" will never help cure cancer, AIDS nor Alzheimer's. But running Rosetta@home just might! https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/ |
