I'm new to BOINC but used to be involved in the SETI computational sharing. I have what appears to be a problem. BOINC seems to be stuck running a single task (which has completed). There is another one in the queue waiting to run ("Ready to Run") but it won't switch over. Clearly it still thinks the previous one has not completed. I don't see anyway to 'override the controls'. I have the ability to suspend a task, why not give the user control to start a task? Does anyone have any thoughts as to how I can get the next task to start, or I guess more importantly, how I can get the current task to end. Thanks |

Follow up. I am able to suspend the first job which then kicks off the next job but the first one remains. |

Some projects have a bit of post processing that must run after the manager says 100%. I am not sure if that is the case here but waiting a while to see can't hurt. Restarting the task, client, and/or computer may get it running again if it is truly stalled and not just doing some post processing. BOINC WIKI BOINCing since 2002/12/8 |

Thanks for your response John. I figured that there may be a little post processing but one of the tasks took approx 8hrs to run but had been stuck at 100% for 46 hrs... I have managed to suspend the tasks which then brings up the following 'ready to run' task. So far this has been working but I doubt it is the correct course of action. Ok 46 hours is way too much time to wait. Unsuspend the task then restart the client/computer. If it is still stuck then abort the task. BOINC WIKI BOINCing since 2002/12/8 |
