I see it's still using Rosetta 5.01, so it must be really old. Rosetta implemented a "watchdog" in 5.07, to AUTOMATICALLY catch and abort any stuck WUs, without a human intervention. So you shouldn't encountered any more such problems in the future. Btw I like to keep a short cache of WUs, by reducing BOINC's time to connect to project. Personally I use configurable runtime of 8hr per WU and connect-every=0.1days so I cache just 1-2 WUs at any moment.
