Good Morning all, I was up until a few days ago receiving work units regularly however I haven't been able to receive anything at all lately. I don't see an notices in BOINC or anything in the Event Log just that I've requested work and received 0 units. 6/22/2022 5:18:23 AM | Rosetta@home | Sending scheduler request: To fetch work. 6/22/2022 5:18:23 AM | Rosetta@home | Requesting new tasks for CPU 6/22/2022 5:18:25 AM | Rosetta@home | Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks 6/22/2022 5:18:25 AM | Rosetta@home | No tasks sent 6/22/2022 5:18:25 AM | Rosetta@home | Project requested delay of 31 seconds I have 350 GB free on disk and only disk space limitation is I've configured BOINC to not fill disk to below 50 GB free. So 300 GB to play with. Network activity is 'always on'. Anyone have a suggestion. My 32 cores are sitting idle :( |

You previously aborted a stuck Python Task, and depending on what other issues you may have had, then your system could be blocked from getting new Python work. Going in to your account, clicking on Details for that system and down near the bottom should be an option to Allow Python work. Click on that and see if you start getting work again. Grant, You were 100% correct, this is exactly what happened and following your instructions did alleviate the issue. Thanks! Grasor |

Does your computer details have an option concerning Python work? Does it have a button labelled Allow? As i posted previously- if so, click on it. Grant Darwin NT |

I cannot find anywhere that references "Python" on anything concerning my system. Do you have any other thoughts that may be keeping me from downloading work units? cheers |

I cannot find anywhere that references "Python" on anything concerning my system. Then the odds of getting any work are close to zero. Normal Rosetta 4.20 Tasks are only very infrequently available, for very brief periods of time. The main type of work presently available are Python Tasks, and they require Virtual Box to be installed. You can download the latest version of BOINC that comes with VirtualBox to install it, but Python tasks come with all sorts of issues of their own (massive RAM & HDD space requirements, along with Zombie Tasks that don't actually run even though they say they are along with other issues). So, basically, what you're saying is, if you don't want to run Virtual Box on your equipment because of the massive overheads, give up on running Rosetta because you are unlikely to get any workunits in the foreseeable future? That's not really the sort of response I would have expected, given the amount of computing time that your supporters have donated to date. |
