hi there, since r@h is CPU only, if you also want your GPU to work on covid related tasks you can apply for Folding@home, they have both CPU and GPU tasks, however if you remove the CPU slot you will only get GPU tasks and works on both projects without affecting each other (the GPU tasks require a little CPU to feed the GPU but it is minimal). This is how I roll currently, please note r@h and f@h are not strict competitors but their science complements each other, currently f@h got a lot of press and a surge in contributors and they hardly can keep up with the supply of WUs. This is quite funny since r@h was already working on covid and it became clear in these forums when someone's computer crashed that an admin said something like yeah these covid jobs require a lot of memory... Anyway it is up to individuals where to put their hardware to use, Harm |

That's exactly the same I do, running both, Rosetta on CPU and Folding on GPU! Yeah, Folding marketing is very good indeed! They know how to advertise themselves! |

You can maybe do GPU grid https://www.gpugrid.net/ |

Well done to everyone involved in this project, its brilliant to see everyone pulling together on this :) |

You can maybe do GPU grid https://www.gpugrid.net/ AFAIK GpuGrid doesn't have any Covid related WUs. So I think that a lot of people right now would be much less inclined to participate in that project. I don't stress if I get non-Covid WU in R@H, but would likely not be participating right now if there were none at all. |

That is great. Anything we can do to continue fighting corona virus. |

How can i see if this is working on my computer? I'm new here. Thanks |

Easy, BOINC has downloaded some WUs and is currently elaborating them, you can even see their percentage progress. And use the advanced view, it's clearer. View->advanced view Your profile shows you are currently crunching 4 WUs :) |

I have been crunching away on the corona virus and COVID19 here on my desktop and my phone with rosetta@home since I heard about it in early March. I also have folding@home running in the background of my old desktop. Hope this all leads to a cure or Vaccine soon!! Thanks, Boogyman Munster |

Please let me know the latest result of this project. It's unclear how my PC is contributing. |

well i'm not familar with this but there are 2 sets of queues one of which bakerlab has provided to researchers around the world, you can literally see the jobs there https://robetta.bakerlab.org/queue.php another sets are from the affiliated researchers in bakerlab that sends wu out. folding them hopefully reviews the functional groups and simulations of the compounds and reactions that can work to block or even deactivate covid i.e. we are mining for the medicines that'd stop the covid a little like bitcoin mining but that if the molecule is found, it is more than just being a virtual digital data it is a real molecule in the real world. i.e. compute the antibody that stop the covid |

Please let me know the latest result of this project. It's unclear how my PC is contributing. https://twitter.com/cyrusbiotech/status/1257384095048503297 From Rosetta@Home's Twitter feed. Beyond my understanding, but may be of interest to you. The researchers occasionally pop on here to give updates (but are understandably busy and cannot all the time). Do know that all this calculation power for this project has already been useful to Covid research, and should continue to be! |

You should post these updates on the Rosetta@home website and send out a notice. https://twitter.com/RosettaAtHome/status/1260368548976713730 and https://twitter.com/RosettaAtHome/status/1260368892695699457 "COVID update: Our project scientists submitted over 28M "scaffold design" work units in recent weeks. Those helped enable a further 200M "binder design" calculations! Initial laboratory testing of these candidate COVID treatments is underway. Thanks to all crunchers!" "This is just the first wave. Expect hundreds of millions of additional work units to be issued in the coming weeks and months. We need you now more than ever!" |

You should post these updates on the Rosetta@home website and send out a notice. The news tab, as it sends out an alert to our clients - is certainly a larger audience than Rosetta's twitter page. I agree -- it does help to have more frequent updates as we haven't had a notice directly related to COVID-19, or Rosetta@home science, since April 4th. Their science should be the absolute priority - but it shouldn't be much to ask to repost that message here, or to even merely link to those kinds of tweets. |

Exactly. One of the major issues with Distributed Computing has been keeping users active. Updates are one of the best ways to do that. |

Finally update, great. Too bad that I have to browse forum to see that. |
