Cannot even get to typing in my password for Rosetta@Home in the client. The green dot just keeps jumping between the 2 computers forever. Have you made the changes/added the additional lines to the hosts file on your computer(s) as outlined in previous posts in this forum? |

Cannot even get to typing in my password for Rosetta@Home in the client. The green dot just keeps jumping between the 2 computers forever. It a IPV6 address error. A server went crazy so we use this work around to solve that: Here how you do it... open file explorer and then do this Goto C:>Windows>System32>drivers>etc find the hosts file then: Press the Windows key. Type Notepad in the search field. In the search results, right-click Notepad and select Run as. administrator and open the hosts file then paste the following two lines: 128.95.160.156 boinc-files.bakerlab.org 128.95.160.156 bwsrv1.bakerlab.org save the file. If it gives you any trouble, then rename the original hosts file with a .old extenstion and create a new one but make sure you do not give it any extension. So make sure to 'save as' with 'all files' selected in file type. Windows needs to see it as a 'file'. This should solve your problem |

As for my 'rant', how do you expect your science to get done if you don't keep your machines up and running properly? I run Denis@home and his project is significantly smaller. But he keeps an eye on his machines and has his team quickly fix any problems. So that is all I am pushing. Keep the machinery running. Forum posts..well if you have a fubar or semi fubar problem, then tell us what it is and how you're fixing it. Doesn't have to be a paragraph, just a line or two. Communication helps a lot. It's just bizarre a well established project like this has so many issues. But I guess that's the way it will be now. So whatever... Thanks for responding in a much better way than my post deserved. And for chosing to work through these issues with the rest of us, however frustrating it is for all of us. ![]() ![]() |

Considering that we are responsible for providing them and other researchers with results for their research, that is a ridiculously short sighted point of view, and if it were true then they should just close down Rosetta and be done with it. If they want results from the work they send out, then they need to make sure that the infrastructure is functional enough to make that possible. There's not a single word you've written I can disagree with. Yet here we are. And they're not going to wind it up altogether when they've discovered that our contribution can still provide something their new applications can't. Seems like we can look forward to a lot more frustration in future too. I've also seen how much In Progress tasks have increased while I've been at work - I won't expect it to continue but we'll take it as long as it's there. I can't grab any atm as each new host I arrive at is chock full of WCG, so I'm busy trying to run them down to make space. By which time all the Rosetta tasks will probably have been grabbed by everyone else. And just to highlight how confusing everything has become, I was tootling about on the London Underground today when I finally worked out why neither of my Android device have been running any Rosetta for the last week. I've only just added bwsrv1 to that personalDNSfilter app I was told about wrt the alternate boinc-files server <sigh> ![]() ![]() |

In Progress still increasing and a stock of Unsent tasks to download. No validation, nor assimilation backlog. Not sure what's going on atm - everything apparently Application Unsent In progress Rosetta 3440 11794 Rosetta Beta 2846 166196 ![]() ![]() |

I run Folding@Home and there are tasks there that I have read the university that has sent out tasks to be run there is using a protein from here to work on the next molecular level up or to see how it fits into something they have developed. So while it is frustrating on this end, our work does get used elsewhere. |

In Progress still increasing and a stock of Unsent tasks to download. Out of 57 tasks processed on this computer I have 37 that are valid and 20 running. My RAC graph is now starting to tick up a little bit after being flat lined. So from my view they got the bug fixed whatever it was. GPU grid was offline for 2-3 weeks roughly after they moved to a new machine. Then they had bugs in the new tasks. The admin was not posting on his project page, but I could follow what was going on on their discord page. To bad they don't do that here. Maybe they do, Just not publicly known. |

So from my view they got the bug fixed whatever it was.Or something else has happened, and it's helped whatever was going on. There are still issues with the Assimilators, but they're not as bad as they were. And the Ready to send has been over 2,000 for 8 hours now (it's actually well over 17,000. Normal value is 5000). Total Queued jobs is now below 9.5 million. Whether it was a case of the system choking on the huge number of Queued jobs, we'll probably never know. If things continue to improve and stay good as the Queued jobs number reduces, and if they turn to crap again if another big dump of work comes along, then that's very probably what's been going on. Now if they could just fix the DNS & download server issues (and then fix the servers so that a large Queued jobs number won't cause everything else to grind to a halt in the future) things would be so much better all around... I've only just added bwsrv1 to that personalDNSfilter app I was told about wrt the alternate boinc-files server That, and Rosetta Beta doesn't have Android applications to begin with. Rosetta traditional (Rosetta 4.20) just started to have some tasks today. |

Does anyone know of a way to exclude Rosetta Beta and only get the Rosetta 4.20 work? |

Does anyone know of a way to exclude Rosetta Beta and only get the Rosetta 4.20 work? Not currently possible. Requested several times. Paul. |

So from my view they got the bug fixed whatever it was.Or something else has happened, and it's helped whatever was going on. How do you come up with these numbers? If your looking at Robetta page, did you exclude Domain Prediction jobs? As far as I know we only do Structure Prediction. |

You mean double space to remove post? It works for me. |

As far as I know we only do Structure Prediction. This is Rosetta, and i use the numbers that are displayed on the main page under the Server Status section there for everyone to see. Presently Total queued jobs: 9,316,772 No idea what the Robetta page is. Grant Darwin NT |
