Anyway, someone spot if this on the server status changes.

Two of mine have validated and, strangely, they’re tasks that have completed within the past few minutes, not the ones that have been waiting for days.

@Peter the Huckster

If I bought a Ferrari, I sure wouldn't be running around telling everyone that I bought "a car", but what has that got to do with any of this? Nada.

As for the rest of your AHD-driven post, by all means continue to perpetuate the errors that "people" make. I really don't care anymore, but on a technical board you could at least demonstrate that you know a bit more than the average computer user.
Wow, you actually admit you would say "Ferrari" and not "car", yet you would call you NVME an "SSD"? You really haven't grasped this simple concept at all. And BTW nada isn't a word in English. Maybe you meant nothing.

Oh, give it up already.
Yes, I would tell everyone I had a Ferrari. Owning one of those big red beasts is some sort of status symbol. I don't think owning a SSD falls quite into the same league.
Besides, you make a blatant assumption when you say I would call a NVMe an SSD. You need to adjust your meds. I think its quite obvious I would call it what it is, a SSD with a NVMe interface.

Are you Jewish? Nobody says already.

You're colour blind. https://media.evo.co.uk/image/private/s--aX09ZTOr--/v1600260021/evo/2020/09/Ferrari_PortofinoM_1.jpg

AN SSD. A apple?

falls quite into the same league.
You still wouldn't understate your computer's specs.

Besides, you make a blatant assumption when you say I would call a NVMe an SSD. You need to adjust your meds. I think its quite obvious I would call it what it is, a SSD with a NVMe interface.
ROFL! You would say "SSD with an NVME interface" instead of "NVME"?

Wow, I never thought I'd see you drop so low as to resort to ethnic slurs. You seem to have it in for both Jewish people and those who speak North American English.
Then again, if you really are Scottish, you shouldn't be so quick to criticize how others speak/write the English language.

Wow again, Ferrari finally broke the mold and sold a car that isn't red. This I did not know -- so sue me.

Yes, a Solid State Device. And SSD/NVMe is precisely what I would call it, if someone were to ask me what kind of storage was in the system.

I do it all the time. I don't like those folk who make a living by suing everyone. And before you ask, I had two of them as friends (I use the term loosely), I didn't respect most of their life choices. Seriously, buying a £1300 computer then successfully suing the small computer shop for £2600 because he didn't like Windows 10? I asked why he didn't sue MS and he failed to reply.

You seem to have it in for both Jewish people and those who speak North American English.
Americans don't speak English, they speak bastardised English. There is no such language as American, it's just English written and spoken badly.

Then again, if you really are Scottish, you shouldn't be so quick to criticize how others speak/write the English language.
I have always lived here, because it's more scenic, less crowded, and vastly cheaper housing. But I have no Scottish blood. I'm 3/4 English and 1/4 Swedish. You'd never catch me saying "See you? Gonna nae dae that? Yer scratchin the paintwork on ma car! That's nay right! I'll call the polis and have ya lifted! This is a respectable area!" Glasgow needs to be levelled.

Wow again, Ferrari finally broke the mold and sold a car that isn't red. This I did not know -- so sue me.
I guess you're too poor to know much about Ferrari. Then again people with common sense don't buy unreliable Italian shite.

Yes, a Solid State Device.
When you read this sentence "I have an SSD" do you read it as "solid state device" or "ess ess dee"? By the way it's "drive", or it could well be a transistor radio.

And SSD/NVMe is precisely what I would call it, if someone were to ask me what kind of storage was in the system.
Geeky OCD freak.

Workunits waiting for validation are over 1 million, mine are currently 563.
Nothing I have run for a week have been validated.
has anyone looked into this?

It was reported very late on Friday and I hoped it would get fixed before they broke for the weekend.
Now hoping for Monday

I have created an issue for my cpu time problem.
https://github.com/BOINC/boinc/issues/4957

You have one computer that runs Microsoft Windows 11
Enterprise x64 Edition, (10.00.22621.00)
https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/show_host_detail.php?hostid=6219929
I stole that. I bought a used NVME from a laptop that had it on it. They must get updates first.

That machine is reporting the correct CPU% in Boinc and task manager. I don't see the problem here. But others have, as I found on a google search.

Was that all addressed to me?

I have always admitted that I know little more than the average computer user.
That's why I ask you guys for advice.
If you didn't care anymore, why did you bother with the above response?

I fail to grasp the relevance of your references to Ferraris and cars. Another example of my obtuseness?

And BTW, "nada" is a Spanish word, but in common use in the Western world. Most people understand its meaning.

It's quite simple. An NVME is better than an SSD, although it is a type of SSD. Just like a Ferrari is a type of car.

And BTW, "nada" is a Spanish word, but in common use in the Western world. Most people understand its meaning.
I don't speak Spanish apart from conio, pinga, soldado, comminierda, and fascista. And American isn't a language.

Then neither are Geordie or Cockney, but they are both dialects of English -- as are the very many dialects spoken in North America.

BTW, if you don't like the use of "nada" in English, what's your take on things like "brehmsstrahlung" or "apropos"?

Ah. Now I realize your tirade was directed to another BOINCer you consider beneath your erudite stature. Sorry.

As for your critique on American English, it's obvious that you do not understand how languages work. They evolve. Isolation causes change. How do you think the English language came to be? It incorporates words, phrases and idioms from many other languages. Latin, Greek, French, German, Spanish. That's what makes it universal.

Despite your ethnocentric comment that American English is English spoken badly, the fact is that your English, my English and that of Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland and about half of the rest of the world are mutually comprehensible. Each has its own pronunciation and colloquialisms, but it is basically the same language.

It changes all the time, regardless of whether you like it or not.

You may look down on American English, but would you also disparage the English spoken by Australians, South Africans, residents of Caribbean countries, all of who claim English to be their native tongue, each spoken uniquely?

I admit that my knowledge of computers and the intricacies of BOINC are sorely lacking. But I assure you that I can speak and write in English at least as proficiently as you can., although peppered with occasional Americanisms. And I have never sued anybody.

You said you were part Swedish. I was in Sweden. Almost everybody there spoke English. This is also true in the rest of Scandinavia, the Netherlands, Belgium, the Baltic states, etc. It is primarily people like you and the French who are so snobby about their language. How quaint!

I have a British friend who always brags about British English being the "mother tongue." But he cannot spell his mother tongue better than a fourth-grade student..

BTW, all my BOINC projects, including Rosetta, are running fine now, except for the long list of Rosetta tasks waiting for validation.

As is typical of some Brits. It's "Queens" English or nothing.
Well sorry to say, there are many flavors of English and as an American with international friends and living in Belgium, English here in the EU is a mix of all flavors. American, Bad East Block, French version and even German version. Then we can get into those less educated that learned it from comparing English shows (US and UK) with subtitles to compare to the English. So there is no "true" single correct version of English. Also UK English uses many different terms than other flavors of English and the same for US English. Typically the English I get around Belgium is a blend of both, but typically favoring US because of TV influence and social media. There is no "pure" English anymore except for text books of each country.

An accent is fine, but no, cockney rhyming slang is ridiculous.

Brehmsstrahlung is scientific. Science uses words from many languages and must be precise. Apropos I would never use, sounds like something a lawyer would say. They're stuck on Latin.

America just failed to evolve.

Comprehensible but annoying. And when you start making words up like sidewalk, somebody has to use google.

It changes all the time, regardless of whether you like it or not.
It changes too slowly. There are a lot of things in English that should be simplified. Remove the word fewer for example, or at least be consistant and also have severaler. And why do Americans say gotten instead of got?

You may look down on American English,
Mainly I look down on Americans, they're world famous for being a bit thick. And I cannot stand to watch a video on Youtube explaining how to fix something when instead of saying "tighten the screw" he says "now what you're gonna wanna do next is tighten the screw". Do they just like the sound of their own voice?

but would you also disparage the English spoken by Australians, South Africans, residents of Caribbean countries, all of who claim English to be their native tongue, each spoken uniquely?
No, because they're nowhere near as ridiculous.

I admit that my knowledge of computers and the intricacies of BOINC are sorely lacking. But I assure you that I can speak and write in English at least as proficiently as you can., although peppered with occasional Americanisms.

And I have never sued anybody.
Then you're not a real American. Do you do that swear allegiance to god and the united states crap?

You said you were part Swedish. I was in Sweden. Almost everybody there spoke English.
Indeed, m'colleague was an English teacher in Sweden. Maybe you met all his pupils! Just goes to show the whole world is converging on one language.

This is also true in the rest of Scandinavia, the Netherlands, Belgium, the Baltic states, etc. It is primarily people like you and the French who are so snobby about their language. How quaint!
You can't call French a language when they say things like "le weekend" and "le fast food".

I have a British friend who always brags about British English being the "mother tongue." But he cannot spell his mother tongue better than a fourth-grade student..
He is correct though, we had it first. Your lot are descended from people who ran away to steal land from American Indians. https://youtu.be/p4zR9r9olOg

You'll find the Queen said things like grind instead of ground. Very posh accents become absurd. "One fell off one's horse and broke one's leg, what a bore!"

Well sorry to say, there are many flavors
Flavours. Do you know why you omit the U? It's not what I thought.

The original is correct. Try buying an Oxford dictionary. Yes, they include slang in there now, but ignore any word listed as (colloquial) or (regional).

Middle class people in the South of England speak true English.
