But this all takes time since I run only 14 hrs a day.Lightweight, I run 10 machines 24 hours a day :-) |

Ooh, new batch of tasks again? No idea how big yet We could get used to this |

Ooh, new batch of tasks again? No idea how big yet I certainly hope so! Looks like things are running okay so far. This is batch 2. ~5mil total for this experiment on the way. |

Ooh, new batch of tasks again? No idea how big yet Because there was a slight gap between the previous batch ending and the new one being issued, my systems switched over to my backup project, so I haven't started running any yet. But the previous batch all ran successfully - no reason to think this one will be any different. Ideally, I don't want to run my backup project, so if there are any other researchers needing to have work done, send them our way and we'll get a flow going without interruptions. Things work more reliably on both sides of the server divide that way [hint][/hint] |

Ooh, new batch of tasks again? No idea how big yet Nice to have lots of R4.2 work without problematic pythons eating my ssd :-) |

Nice to have lots of R4.2 work without problematic pythons eating my ssd :-)Those things last forever despite what people say. Anyway, SSDs suck, I use NVME. |
... SSDs suck, I use NVME. You might benefit from a good google search on NVMe. It's not what you seem to think it is. |

I know exactly what they are and have several, they're much faster. An SSD over SATA is far too slow, because of the SATA.
... SSDs suck, I use NVME. Are you from the Android forum? |

Any idea why completed work units are not being validated? |

Any idea why completed work units are not being validated? Sometimes it's because they are waiting for enough other copies to complete the quorum, Sometimes it's because the validator program isn't running. |

There are currently a very large number waiting for validation (a third of a million). Looking at my waiting ones, and my recently validated ones, they have "minimum quorum 1" which suggests they're self checking, or the server does so, so we're waiting on the server, not any other user. Something must have gone wrong at their end.Any idea why completed work units are not being validated?Sometimes it's because they are waiting for enough other copies to complete the quorum, |

Well, clearly you do not know, or you would not be suggesting that NVMe is some kind of storage device. It is not. NVMe is a host controller interface specification, the same as SATA. Thus, one might well imagine that some day, we might also see HDDs with a NVMe interface, just as we now have SSDs with a NVMe interface. |

I'm not interested in your OCD. I know perfectly well how all disks work and have been in the business since 1997. Please learn basic English. Here is a helper for you:I know exactly what they are and have several, they're much faster. An SSD over SATA is far too slow, because of the SATA.
... SSDs suck, I use NVME. Hard disk/rust spinner = mechanical drive connected via SATA, previously IDE. Now gets up to about 170MB/s. SSD = solid state drive connected via SATA, limited by SATA to about 550MB/s. NVME = solid state drive connected directly to the motherboard using PCI express, gets up to 7000MB/s. I prefer 7000 to 550. |

SSD just means solid state drive, there is nothing that says SSDs refers only to SSDs connected via a SATA interface. Both SATA SSDs and NVMe SSDs are SSDs. That being said, Rosetta has not historically required a second computer to validate WUs. The "Server status" page claims the validator to be running. Methinks something is up with the server. |

But they usually fix things quickly, at least we can pile up work for them over the weekend. Since they use SSDs and not rust spinners like some projects, it'll clear it in no time. |

Yes, there's no quorum required before validation. It would be a server issue, even though the Server Status page says they're all running. Now up over 500k awaiting validation. I've emailed to report it and hope someone gets to it before everyone runs off for the weekend. The benefit of West Coast time differences... |

And are running successfully, fully and with no errors on Intel, AMD and Android as well, which can't be said for everything. My 2 Androids (OS 7 and 11) are getting no tasks. Just to mention, I'm definitely getting some Android tasks among the current batch. |
